Hello! It is fabulous to meet you! Thanks for checking out youngmba.net, a resource I definitely wish I had about a year ago. I have a list of columns I want to write that take you through the whole application/MBA orientation/new MBA candidate process, and I’ll try to post regularly. This is my first blog, so I hope you like it!
Let me tell you a little about myself to set up my decision to get an MBA right out of college.
MBA: “Young” can do it
There is this myth among potential MBAs that you have to have solid work experience before you can apply to top b-schools. And here is my response: False!
Every year, the average age at top MBA programs all around the world are decreasing; and there is a reason behind it. More and more top business schools are considering exceptional young applicants right out of college. So, before you throw out the idea of getting your MBA right out of college, please take a moment and read what we have to say.

“What can I do to increase my chances of getting into business school straight out of college?” This is a question that I get frequently from current college students, and it was certainly a question on my mind going through the whole admissions process last year. There is definitely a big disadvantage to those of you who are attempting to get into an MBA program right after undergrad. However, it is certainly possible, even at the top schools if you are able to prove yourself.
MBA…Why now?
As I write the very first blog of YoungMBA.net, I want to start out by saying that I hope we can evolve this blog into an ever-increasing network of young MBA students where all of us can add & share valuable information.
As you proceed with your business school applications from undergrad, one the major question you will always have to answer will be: “Why now?”. Why do you want to get your MBA education now versus 3-4 years from now, and why do you think you can add value to your prospective program?
